Default A new way to skip ascension?

It looks like winnin 10 arena matches takes you to droknar right away.

So if I'm correct, if you win 10 consecutive random arena matches even on your lvl 10 toon who somehow got to LA, you'll be transported right away to droknar?

This looks good. Another reward for playing in the arena, on top of the faction points.

I don't know about that-what I gathered is that pick up groups would start to be matched against organized teams.

Realize that if your competion is as simple as coin flipping (with 50% chance of winning), one in (roughly) 2000 times, you'll win 10 in a row. There are many (randomly formed) groups out there who have a more than 50% chance of winning against other randomly formed groups.

How many PvP matches are played a day? Far more than 2000, I'd guess. We'd have heard about this by now.

No... I'm pretty sure you are just allowed to go fight people in the Team Arena at Droknars. Once your team loses you go back LA arena although I might be wrong which I doubt.

After you win 10 in a row and begin competition with Team Arenas, a loss will put you in the Team Arenas staging area right outside Droknar's, where you can then enter the city from. But I'm not too certain of any team's ability to compete so well (even in random teams) with a guy who only has Lion's Arch armor and may be ~lvl 13 heh

I was playing with my PvP character, and when I won 11 matches in a row ( ), and we finally lost after we switched to the Team Arena, I ended up at the team arena outpost...

Sounds like a bug, they'll probably eliminate it in the next update.

I Just hope to many people dont try this, I hate to see the influx of lvl 13's in the arena in hope to get a lucky team who can cart them through 10 wins (Or get lucky and join a team that a player has droped and made it to team)

Anyway a fix: Put a check in place if player lvl = < 20 Port back to random arena rather than team.

I submitted a report on the problem to arenanet. I'm sure the respawn point will be fixed asap, as it is an unintended shortcut for PvE players using this method to get to Droknar's.

The chances of a level 13 getting on a team that wins 10 in a row is miniscule, I mean, if you don't have Droknor's armor on you will die really really fast even in the competition arenas, I couldn't imagine a level 13 with only 300 or so hit points lasting more than a few seconds. The rest of his team would be at a huge disadvantage. That said, I'm glad they are closing this loophole because if it happens even once it cheapens the game.

I was in LA yesterday and decided to hit the Comp Arenas with my level 14.

All the other players left prior to the match starting.

They were all 20s and aparently assholes.

So, it might be possible, but with the damage that has been done to low level PvP I would say it should not be an issue.

Still, what is the point of all this rushing for armor?

That leaves you with no skills and a serious case of boredom when you go complete the quests for them. Bla....

I saw yesterday a level 9 ranger with Droknar Forge armor looking for a group. I think this was in Piken Square. I had to shake my head a little, it seems to sour the mood. You may very well have Droknar Armor, but it shows nothing for true skill. It only shows someone helped them run there to get the armor which only makes them appear more skilled as they take less damage unlike most at level 9.

Rather frustrating if you ask me, it gives me a sour mood in how those of us worked hard to earn the right to go to Droknar's and suddenly there are level nines with Droknar Armor in low level places such as Piken, catching up on skills and quests.

I do hope they fix this bug, even if it is unlikely, they need to fix it just the same. It would enable a well organized guild to run someone to Droknar via PvP instead of through Lornar's.

I tried leaving with my pvp char and the arena guard said that i couldn't go into droknars because king jalis hadn't approved my entry yet. Maybe this is the same for non ascended chars?

I had a little flame war with some Droknar Guy yesterday. I said it is lame to get the Droknars Armor to "ownz0r" the Level 10 Arenas. Funny thing is, i got immediately flamed by half Ascalon Oo

So it is now common use to do this things and according to the guys who have been in Ascalon... perfectly legit to "ownz0r teh n00bs" with that armor from Droknar.

And about that PVP Thingie landing in the arenas... yes it does work. We had a guy in our team that was level 17. He did quite well for that but he was appearantly lacking armor. We still won the necessary amount of times due to heavy slow-downs and massive Spike Damage on our side. But then happened what had to happen, we lost. And we found ourselves placed in the Team Arenas along with the lowlevel. He was like "wtf" and left for Droknar...

/edit:
I have no proof he went to Droknar. He just went for the portal and left us behind as we were mostly running PVP Chars. He wasn't offline, he just went for the portal and left the Area. No Clue there where he went and if it really was Droknar.

how can you guys tell if someone is wearing droknar's forge armor? doesn't it just all look the same as lion's arch and anywhere else??? I thought it was mainly the armor value increasing but not asthetically.

and i really hope they fix that shortcut up. I went the long way and through ascension to get my butt there, wasn't pretty in elona's reach with bad groups one after another (usually it's one person!)

You can tell by asking them. or by searching/posting in the forums.

i find this aspect of the rushes to forge particularly humorous because i 'ownzor' or whatever it's called in the lvl 10 arenas with the normal old ascalon armor. get runs into the 30's all the time and often into the 40's or 50's and normally never loose i just have something else that needs doing, like work. bottom line you really don't need good armor to win in the ascalon arena.
